PEKAN: The last three Pahang state executive councillors were named minutes before the swearing-in ceremony before Sultan Ahmad Shah this morning.
Datuk Fong Koong Fuee taking his oath.They are the assemblyman for Cheka and former state Human Resources and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Fong Koong Fuee who has been reappointed. The other two are Bukit Ibam assemblyman Mohamad Sahfri Ab Aziz and the representative for Inderapura Shafik Fauzan Shariff. Both are second term assemblymen. They joined eight others whose appointment to the 11-member executive council was announced on March 13. Sahfri, who was the first to be sworn in at Istana Abu Bakar, said at 33, he considered himself young for the post.
"However, I believe the trust and responsibility given by the menteri besar will make me a better leader," he added. The councillors are expected to be told their portfolios today.Earlier, it was widely anticipated that Kuala Sentul state assemblyman Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin would replace Datuk Maznah Mazlan who had been appointed as the Deputy Natural Resources and Environment Minister.Maznah was the first and only woman in the previous executive council.
