Tun Dr. Mahathir wrote in his blog that the first letter to the Agong by Tun Salleh was about the noise from the Istana which was disturbing Tun Salleh!
"In his first letter Tun Salleh had written to DYMM YDP Agong complaining about the noise made during some repair work at the Agong’s palace near Salleh’s house."

Well, I had the opportunity to work as a Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR) of the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 1983 and Tun Salleh was the Lord President. Tun Salleh was capable of making all sorts of complaints. When his official car had an accident in Lanchang Pahang, he had to use the pool car. Unfortunately for him, the same car was used by Justice Razak the previous day to fetch for durian from his orchards in Bera Pahang. His complaints about the smell of durian in his car almost brought the whole of Sultan Abdul Samad Building crumbled down. But, when he realised that the car was used by Justice Razak, he kept quiet and stopped complaining. He was worried maybe that Justice Razak might not be his match!
I am not at all surprised that Tun Salleh wrote the letter to the Agong!
